Participating applications do not have to be available in an official application store, such as the AppStore or Android Market. However, the application must be available to the public before the end of April 2012. Any information sent to us about an application still being developed, will remain confidential.
Both paid and free apps can win the App of the Year award. Nominating an application is free and everyone (users or developers) is allowed to send in applications for nomination. The date and location of the event will be communicated later. We have made the nomination form accessible for everyone . Nominations close on May 1 st, 2012, at 8 PM.
Applications have to be developed by a Belgian developer (a developer with a Belgian identity), Belgian company or Belgian resident. In other words: the app has to be developed in Belgium (for example by a company with its offices in Belgium) or (not and) by a Belgian developer or by a Belgian resident. Just to be clear!
The winners of the App of the Year awards will be appointed by a jury and a popular vote. All decisions by the jury and the results of the popular vote are non-contestable. We are very willing to explain why someone has won and by how many votes. However, once the results are communicated, they will not be changed and cannot be contested. We will not be open to official complaints, unless they refer to a violation of the rules by a participant or a violation of Belgian law.
Nominations are valid when the applications comply with these rules and were nominated through the form on this website or the form on the website TheMobileRevolution.be. Nominations through email or any other channel will not be taken into account.
We are not pretending to be experts in organizing award events and contests, and probably have forgotten plenty. We reserve the right to review these rules, or more precisely: formulate extra rules if necessary. The organization will communicate openly about any changes or considerations.
